Thanks for your help getting Royal Rangers History documented.

Early Royal Rangers History

(May 2016)

When you read the early history of Royal rangers you read about a pilot outpost at Webster Park AG in Springfield, MO that ran during 1962 as Johnnie Barnes was still creating the materials for the Royal Rangers program. We have just posted a copy of a typewritten Leaders Manual that dates back to those pilot outpost days. There was also at least one other pilot outpost during those days, what became Outpost 1 in Southern Missouri (1987 version, 1989 version). There is also posted a copy of the requirements for advancement, also from that era of the pilot outposts in 1962. Both the Leaders Manual and the advancement requirements were mimeographed onto cheap paper, so the originals are very brittle today.

Missing History

(May 2016)

Also, if you have historical district Pow Wow packets, district newsletters, sectional event packets, or sectional newsletters, please consider sending us a copy. For more information, please contact us at history@ntxrr.org

We need your help on keeping this site up to date. As you get new information for the current year, 2016, we would love to get an email with your information. Please attach electronic copies of any information you receive for your district. Everything can be sent to history@ntxrr.org.

Thanks for your help with getting the Royal Rangers history online for all to view.

Royal Rangers History website!!!

(2014)

The Royal Rangers History website exists to help preserve our Royal Rangers history. Since Johnnie Barnes founded Royal Rangers in 1962 there have been untold thousands of different Royal Rangers events across the United States and around the world, and for most of those events there have been commemorative patches issued. This site is dedicated to helping to preserve and catalog those patches and other information about events and activities of Royal Rangers around the world.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed patch scans and other information to the Royal Rangers History site. This site would not be possible without the contributions of many individuals from across the country. If you know of additional patches that should be added to the History database, you can send scans to history@ntxrr.org. In addition, if you have information on the number of patches made, number of people who attended, who the designer was, or other information about an event, we would like to add that information to the database as well.

With a project this large it is likely that some mistakes have been made in identifying a patch or with some of the descriptive information about the patch. If you see a mistake, please send corrections to history@ntxrr.org so that the database can be updated. This is a volunteer effort so it may take some time before updates occur, but your contributions are definitely appreciated.

We continue to collect information. If you have information you would like to get posted for your district, region, or country, please send it to history@ntxrr.org. Please give us time to get it posted. Because of the volume of information being submitted, it takes time to get everything updated.

Thanks!!
